Next week Young Audiences of Western New York, in collaboration with Arts Partners for Learning, will host What Do You Advocate For, an arts advocacy event featuring short presentations by dynamic leaders in the arts throughout New York State. This free event will be held at the Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center on Monday, July 27th, from 6 to 8pm.

The event is a part of the second annual Buffalo Emerging Leaders Institute, YAWNY's intensive three-day program that provides professional development to 20 emerging leaders in the arts from organizations and schools across the New York State.

Young Audiences staff, Institute participants, and other arts and arts education professionals will present, covering topics such as expressions of inclusion through poetry and meditation for young people. There will also be a screening of a short video highlighting the hopes and dreams of young people in the Buffalo Public schools, and of the Starlight Studios documentary, Portrait of Artists - Life is Art.

Head to the Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center on Monday for a free evening of engaging presentations, inspirational films, and good food. RSVP here or contact Mary Beth Murray at communications@yawny.org for more information.
