Marsha Dobrzynski, Executive Director of Young Audiences Arts for Learning’s Northeast Ohio affiliate, the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning (CAL), was honored as the recipient of the 2021 Stephanie Tubbs Jones Neighborhood Leadership Award from University Circle, Inc. The award recognizes individuals who make significant contributions to Cleveland's University Circle neighborhood, known as the city's arts district.

Based in University Circle, CAL works with more than 100 professional teaching artists to tie to curricular connections and socio-emotional themes, helping children in Grades PreK-12 learn through and with the arts. “It has been a privilege for CAL to be in University Circle for the past 4 years,” said Dobrzynski at the May 12 virtual award ceremony, “to partner with so many phenomenal organizations in the community, [and] to ensure that everyone – young and old – has the opportunity to experience arts in their lives.”

The distinction comes at an especially meaningful time in Dobrzynski’s 27-year leadership at CAL as she prepares to retire this summer.
