Young Audiences of Northern California

Deploying 56 teaching artists to bring art to life for more than 23,000 students annually since 1958

Young Audiences of Northern California was founded in 1958 and brings art to life for more than 23,000 unique students annually. As we follow our mission to “create arts experiences that inspire young people, expand learning, and enliven communities,” we provide full-spectrum arts education programs to schools and community centers in all nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area.  Partnering with 56 of the area’s finest theater artists, dancers, musicians, and visual artists, we serve students in pre-K through high school and their teachers and families, in both public and private schools, as well as in community and after-school settings.

Delivered by teaching artists who represent 20 distinct world cultures, YANC’s programs are relevant to the diverse population of the Bay Area.  Every YANC arts education program, whether it is a performance demonstration, an arts workshop, or a classroom residency, is arts-focused, student-centered, outcomes-driven, and measurably effective. At YANC, we make art happen!
