Young Audiences of Houston
Founded in 1956, Young Audiences of Houston works to educate and inspire children through the arts, to make the arts an integral part of the school curriculum, and to advance the field of arts in education though professional development and community partnerships. Young Audiences of Houston works with a roster of 130 teaching artists to provide 2,942 programs a year, reaching 208,550 children in schools, libraries, community centers, and hospitals throughout the greater Houston area.
Young Audiences of Houston is the managing partner for a new regional collaborative called Houston Arts Partners (), established in 2009 and serving the 53 surrounding Independent School Districts as well as working with the area’s 20 largest arts organizations. Houston Arts Partners supports the coordinated delivery of research, professional development, funding support, and advocacy to provide access to over 1,000,000 students within the greater Houston region. Today Houston Arts Partners hosts an annual state arts education conference and actively works with arts, education, and community committee’s supporting these collective efforts.
