Young Audiences of Abilene

Serving almost 12,000 Abilene children each year since 1993

Young Audiences of Abilene (YAA)  has been a presence in Abilene elementary schools since 1993, and each year, every kindergarten, first and second grade student in the Abilene and Wylie school districts experience at least one forty-five minute assembly presentation. YAA offers residencies in the areas of dance, drama, music, and storytelling.

Young Audiences of Abilene partners on a regular basis with the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature and the Center for Contemporary Arts, both in Abilene, and the Old Jail Art Center in Albany, providing original programs to accompany and enhance current exhibits.  YAA’s summer partnership with the Abilene Public Library remains one of their flagship collaborations along with the Catch a Rising Star event in August, which features members of the Houston Grand Opera Studio in a free concert at the historic Paramount Theatre in Abilene.
