Kansas City Young Audiences
The largest provider of arts-in-education programs in the Kansas City area serving more than 155,000 students annually
Kansas City Young Audiences (KCYA), founded in 1961, is the leading provider of quality arts education in the Kansas City area and serves more than 100,000 children annually; the majority of these children are from Title 1 schools.
In-school services, offered through Arts Partners and School and Community Programs bring children dance, music, theatre and visual arts workshops, residencies and performances that are tied directly to their school curriculum. The KCYA roster of nearly 150 teaching artists serves more than 300 schools in both Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas.
The KCYA Community School of the Arts is where children come, after-school and during the summer, to explore a variety of art forms and develop their own creativity, confidence and artistic skills. Classes are offered year round and provide in-depth training for children ages 2 through 18.
Kansas City Young Audiences arts programs have introduced more than 5 million children to arts integrated curriculum, building critical thinking skills, communication, collaboration and creativity. In January 2017 we will begin a new era in arts education in our new home in the heart of Kansas City!
