Young Audiences/Arts for Learning Maryland Hosts 3 Summer Programs!

SummerREADS July 10-August 17
Serves Baltimore City Public Schools K-8 students. Kids and families alike are looking forward to six weeks of summer fun at seven beautifully renovated city schools libraries. We're getting ready to read with local hip-hop, dance, music, and theater artists! Students will participate in hands-on storytelling activities with help from special guests, including Art with a Heart, Maryland SPCA, The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, and The National Aquarium. SummerREADS programs are geared to students in grades K-3 and their families, although the library will be open to students aged 5-13 unless otherwise determined by the school. Free breakfast and lunch served daily.

 
 

Summer Arts & Learning Academy

July 10-August 11

Serves Baltimore City Public Schools K-5 students. Students can't wait to explore literacy and math this summer through hip-hop and rhymes, sculpting clay, and exploring theatre, storytelling, and dance in our Summer Arts & Learning Academy (SALA). Parents and teachers are excited because SALA not only provides kids with authentic art experiences, it helps prevent summer learning loss! Free breakfast and lunch served daily. Bloomberg Arts Internship
Serves Baltimore City Public Schools rising seniors. The Bloomberg Arts Internship program is coming to Baltimore this summer, placing 25 Baltimore City rising seniors in paid internships at 14 local arts and cultural institutions. Students will participate in a rigorous six-week program, providing crucial college and career readiness preparation through hands-on, real world workplace experiences and professional development. Managed by Young Audiences and GBCA, the program includes work at an arts organization, visits to arts and cultural organizations, and professional development training.
