Young Audiences of Virginia Hosts "Integrating Arts into Early Childhood Programming" Workshop

Young Audiences Arts for Learning Virginia will be hosting a free workshop to introduce arts-in-education concepts for Early Childhood and Preschool ages. Attendees will make correlations between brain development and appropriate arts experiences that can enhance learning skills and identify learning styles.

Using Brain-based learning and multiple intelligences techniques, YAV will integrate Kindergarten readiness techniques into arts experiences. Exploring kinesthetic learning through dance and movement, visual learning through art, fine motor skills through manipulation of music and instruments, and creative play through theatre, are just some of the techniques that will be explored. These art forms will be strongly connected to phonological awareness and early literacy concepts, as well as integration of early childhood building blocks.
