YA Pittsburgh Wolf Trap Institute

It's back! Register now for the always in-demand Wolf Trap Institute!

An early childhood professional development course now in its fifth year, this year's program features all new workshops.

Early childhood practitioners will experience how integrating drama, movement and music teaching techniques into the curriculum will actively engage young children in joyful learning. During this 2-day intensive professional development training led by teaching artists from the Wolf Trap Program for Early Learning Through the Arts, participants will identity performing arts strategies for regular classroom use and be able to apply them to support child development in language, cognitive, socio-emotional and motor domains.

Workshops include: Keep it Moving: Using the Arts and Personal Touches for Transitions and Smart Classroom Management, It's a Beautiful Day for Singing and Count Me In! - Teacher-in-Role Strategies for STEM Exploration.

Gateway's Western Pennsylvania Wolf Trap program provides innovative arts-in-education experiences for children ages 3-5, their teachers and families. Gateway is proud to be one of 16 regional affiliates of the internationally acclaimed Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts, and the only site in Pennsylvania. Participants fulfilling all course requirements are eligible for a 7-week in-school Wolf Trap artist residency to provide mentoring and support for mastery of arts-based learning techniques.
