Harriet Tubman: The Chosen One

In Harriet Tubman: The Chosen One, this dynamic one-woman performance takes students on one of the 19 journeys Harriet Tubman took through the Underground Railroad. With music, props, costumes, and extraordinary acting, Gwendolyn Briley-Strand portrays the strength, courage, faith, and steadfastness of this remarkable American who led more than 300 slaves to freedom.

A Seat for Rosa

Yearning to Learn, Inc.

This delightful and poignant production includes many songs of the Civil Rights era and brings this historical time alive for children. When a child tells his aunt about a bully on his bus, she gives him advice by recounting the tale of Rosa Parks and the events that led to a revolution in racial justice.

A Tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.

Linda Humes

Accompanied by master percussionist, Sanga of the Valley, Linda Humes celebrates the legacy and times of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Filled with stories about the endeavors of Rosa Parks and Marion Anderson's concert on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, as well as Civil Rights songs of the day, Linda pays tribute to this giant in American history and his powerful message of peace and justice for all.
