In recognition of the great work Young Audiences of Rochester has done in the Rochester community for the past 55 years, Congresswoman Louise Slaughter congratulated them on their 55th Anniversary. Congresswoman Slaughter wrote, "I strongly believe that the visual and performing arts provide a valued window into a society's culture at a given point of time. It has also been proven that students who participate in the arts, especially those who play instruments, perform better in the classroom. Without Young Audiences of Rochester's mission to 'create, experience, understand, and connect,' many young people might not have the opportunity to develop these essential skills."
