YA Week Events: Arts for Learning Miami

National YA Week celebrates the many contributions that Young Audiences Arts for Learning affiliates have made to schools and communities nationwide through their arts in education programs. In honor of YA Week, Young Audiences Arts for Learning Miami held multiple residency program and events across Miami-Dade County including programs in 43 early childhood classrooms.  
 
One of their featured programs, ArtWorks, is currently providing six Coral Gables Senior High students with a visual arts internships in collaboration with  the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Honors and Executive Internship Program (HEIP). Students earn honors academic credit for their participation. The ArtWorks summer program offers high school students a paid internship in the arts. Students work closely with professional Teaching Artists to create works of art while learning key workforce skills.

The Lewis Arts Studio is a creative haven for middle school students who have an interest in the visual arts. The Lewis Arts Studio also supports its alumni by providing exhibition opportunities, and workshops with professional artists.
