Save the Date! Where Art Lives - The 2014 Young Audiences National Conference

San Diego's cultural and artistic heritage along with its world class contemporary art museums, local artists and outdoor public art installations make it not only an incredible tourist destination, but a vibrant art community that continues to thrive. Hosting the event, Young Audiences of San Diego invites arts education professionals from around the country to Where Art Lives, the 2014 Young Audiences Arts for Learning National Conference.
Where Art Lives will be held on April 24-26 at the US Grant Hotel in the heart of downtown San Diego. It will address numerous themes, among them are: developing STEAM programs and collaboratives; partnering strategies with school districts and the community; creating collaborative relationships with teachers; measuring genuine impact on student learners, their families, and their communities; grass-roots advocacy in arts education; and building alliances with parents and their organizations.
Participants will include Young Audiences and arts education professionals from around the country and every role will be represented from leadership staff and board members to teaching artists and partner teachers. This diverse group of people are engaged and working to inspire young people and expand their learning through the arts. In addition to plenary sessions that share the latest research and the impact of the arts and education, the conference will include a variety of break out sessions that will address topics that are relevant to our diverse audience and highlight best practices in the arts-in-education field. On Friday, April 25, conference attendees will be treated to site visits at cultural and art centers around the city.
Mark your calendars! Online conference registration will open February 1, 2014.
