Open Call: Workshop Session RFPs for the 2015 Young Audiences National Conference in Kansas City

Young Audiences Arts for Learning is pleased to announce our 2015 annual national conference in Kansas City. The conference, Building pARTnerships through Community Connections, will be held on April 23-25 at the Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza. It will address numerous themes, among them are: building partnerships with schools, educators, teaching artists, parents and students; collaboration with community partners at the arts, education and civic level; and connecting partnerships and collaborations through practice, research, advocacy and technology.

The national conference is open to everyone and colleagues from other organizations are welcome to submit a proposal. Participants will include Young Audiences and arts education professionals from around the country and every role will be represented from leadership staff and board members to teaching artists and partner teachers. This diverse group of people is engaged in improving student access to arts and arts integrated learning. In addition to plenary sessions that share the latest research and the impact of the arts and education, the conference will include a variety of break out sessions that will address numerous themes. These breakout sessions will address topics that are relevant to our diverse audience and highlight best practices in the arts-in-education field.

We are currently accepting proposals for the breakout sessions and we are looking for engaging topics that address our diverse audience and highlight best practices within and outside the Young Audiences Arts for Learning Network. Proposals are due by 5:00 p.m. (EST), Monday, December 1, 2014.
