Announcing YA San Diego's Interim Executive Director Jennifer Oliver

                  

The Young Audiences of San Diego board is pleased to announce that long-time YASD Associate Director, Jennifer Oliver will serve as 2014-15 YASD Interim Executive Director beginning July 1.

In collaboration with the San Diego County Office of Education Visual & Performing Arts, Oliver is co-founder of the Arts Education Resource Organization (AERO). AERO presents quarterly professional development seminars for 75 regional arts organizations. She also serves on the Steering Committee of Arts Empower—a collaborative based in the County Office of Education’s VAPA office. As an established and respected teaching artist, Oliver serves as chair of the statewide Teaching Artist Support Collaborative (TASC). Recently, she was appointed to the national “Arts Education Network” Committee at Americans for the Arts.

Oliver earned a Bachelors of Arts in Dance from UC Irvine (cum laude), and has a Master of Arts in Expressive Arts Therapy through the Expressive Arts Institute. Her performance experience includes venues in Australia, Japan, Poland, France, Germany, Italy, and in the United States. She is an active choreographer and teacher.

The former Executive Director, John Highkin will be leaving after four years of service to lead the Fern Street Community Arts organization as the director. John Highkin founded the organization with his wife, Cindy Zimmerman in 1990.
