Young Audiences Arts for Learning sponsors annual conferences and meetings for YA board, staff and artists to help broaden individual perspectives, teach new skills and develop strategic plans.
National Conference
The annual Young Audiences Arts for Learning National Conference is scheduled each April in a YA affiliate community. The conference provides an opportunity for YA board, staff, artists and others in the field to share ideas, review recent trends, and broaden individual perspectives. The three-day meeting features national leaders in the arts and education and performances by YA artists in addition to regularly scheduled chapter and national business meetings. The conference fee is subsidized by the National organization in order to encourage participation by all YA affiliates.
The 2011 National Conference will be held April 28 - 30 in Indianapolis, Indiana at The JW Marriott Indianapolis.
Leadership Conference
The Young Audiences Arts for Learning Leadership Conference offers opportunities for staff and board leaders to meet in informal job alike sessions, and to participate in an intensive series of hands-on workshops led by expert consultants. In recent years, the Leadership Conference has focused on one or a few topics, including curriculum integration, community collaborations, the application of new technologies, and strategies for addressing financial challenges.
The 2010 Leadership Conference will be held November 18 - 20 in New York City.
